Pale Amber Glow, formed in 2003 in the rural fringes of Maryland, USA, is the ambient music project of David McQuay. Pale Amber Glow's music is mostly instrumental, offering introspection and uninhibited atmospheric beauty to the listener. Influenced equally by post-rock artists such as The Album Leaf, new wave artists like The Cure, and early 90's British shoegazers like Slowdive, Pale Amber Glow carves a unique niche in the expansive realm of modern electronic and ambient genres. In 2005, Pale Amber Glow had 2 tracks on "Nothing Concrete," a sampler album for 99X/10 Records. In 2007, Pale Amber Glow released "Sublimation," a split EP effort with the band Somebody Else's (project of James Fackino, long time friend and collaborator). Pale Amber Glow contributes 3 tracks to the split EP: "Latent," "Velvet Topography," & "The Still Hours."
